Enginedesk started as Electrocat in 1993 after noticing a decrease in the availability of information and schematics. The objective of Electrocat was to create an encyclopedia containing the information needed by engine rebuilders. Over the years the company established a trusted reputation with its specialization in engine parts and adjustment data and recently Electrocat was converted into Enginedesk.
In almost 40 countries spread across the world we serve more than 300 subscribers and countless individuals with our online system.
Practically all existing systems for parts information in the automotive branch are owned by the wholesalers or manufacturers and focus on the fast moving parts they currently have in production or stock. The engine rebuilders however often need information on older parts and their workshop instructions.
The encyclopedic content of the Enginedesk system is achieved by the conversion of the manufacturers catalogs we have been receiving since 1993. This has led to a system that includes over 150.000 vehicles/engines spread over many uses. In many cases, because of the historic content of the system, the information is twice the volume of the present manufacturers catalogs.
Currently the system is maintained by processing data sets making it possible to keep the system up to date and accessible in 24 languages. The system is internationally oriented and it contains the rebuilding instructions (tightening torques, distribution settings, specifications for machining etc.) required and sought after by the engine rebuilders for engines from around the world.
Enginedesk contains rich-data for parts and engines. The service is particulary useful for engine rebuilders and maintenance shops.
